Chronic Pain

Chronic Pain

If you suffer from chronic pain that severely affects your life, you may want an fMRI assessment of your brain. This can be particularly helpful if others have expressed doubt about your condition or have minimized its impact on your ability to function.

There is no way to directly measure pain. But there is a mountain of evidence that chronic pain alters the functioning in your brain.[1] A BSDI report can provide an objective biomarker of your pain. Using  resting state fMRI, we compare important networks in your brain to those of a large group of healthy persons. This will statistically determine whether your brain function falls within the normal or abnormal range with a 95% level of confidence.

Once you have completed your scan you may request a report that summarizes your brain function as compared to normal.
